The Molehill Series
"Molehills as big as mountains" is a series of 6 reduction woodcut prints that deal with the challenges of achieving your higher potential. As a subversion of the idiom "Don't make a mountain out of a molehill", the title of this series seeks empathy. Each character struggles in a different way by the lack of sense or ability. For example, in "Since I cannot read", the character eats a book or in "Since I cannot see", the character uses a telescope backwards, expressing the inability to conquer a task, as a symbol of humans's difficulties to conquer our higher self. The series also points out to the difficulties of being lost in translation, an experience any immigrant confronts.
